Research into Decision-making Processes and Solutions
The world still has no answers or solutions to global challenges such as loss of biodiversity, degradation of soils, climate change, increasing scarcity of raw materials and water, population growth, demographic transition, nor to the social consequences that arise from them. Research has an important role to play in resolving this situation.

The challenge lies in developing approaches to research and its implementation that encompass all the relevant economic, ecological and social factors. A diverse range of research topics covers everything from identification and prediction of trends, through analysis and evaluation of their consequences, to development, trialling and evaluation of adaptation measures and mitigation options.

In terms of research into "sustainable development and global change", the main role of the German Aerospace Center Project Management Agency (PT-DLR) is the implementation and supervision of research funding programmes. This involves PT-DLR in important advisory and coordination tasks on behalf of both providers and recipients of funding in the fields of global change, environmental technologies and social sustainability research. The goals of our expert research management services are to deliver a successful implementation of the research programme and to foster effective and professional collaboration between research establishments and industry partners.
